Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1 tsp Maytag Farms Honey
- 3 1/4 cups bread flour
- 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
Focaccia Toppings
- 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 3 Tbsp olive oil
- 4 oz. Maytag Blue Cheese Crumbles
- 2 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- Flaky sea salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 2 Tbsp Maytag Farms Honey
Directions
- In a medium bowl, combine warm water, instant yeast, and Maytag Farms Honey. Allow to stand for 5 minutes. Add bread flour, salt, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil, mixing until a sticky dough forms. Cover and let rise for one hour.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan over medium-low. Add the sliced onion and cook for 35 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally until caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil. Transfer the dough to the pan, then cover and let rise for another 30 to 45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375° F. After the dough has proofed, top with a drizzle of remaining olive oil. Using your fingers, gently press dimples throughout the surface of the dough. Evenly scatter the caramelized onions and Maytag Blue Cheese Crumbles over top. Sprinkle with chopped rosemary, flaky sea salt, and black pepper.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the focaccia is golden and crisp around the edges. Let cool slightly, then drizzle with honey and serve.
