Maytag Blue Cheese Stuffed Pears

Maytag Blue Cheese Stuffed Pears

This elegant recipe pairs ripe, juicy pears with tangy Maytag Blue Cheese, creating a delightful contrast of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

  • 3 large Bosc pears
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 4 oz. Maytag Blue Cheese Crumbles
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 3 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 2 Tbsp hot honey
  • salt & pepper to taste

Directions

Preheat oven to 400° F. Slice pears in half lengthwise and remove the core and seeds. Place in a cast iron pan with the cut side of the pear up. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Turn the pears cut side down and bake for 15 minutes.

In a bowl, combine Maytag Blue Cheese, walnuts and thyme to create the filling.

Remove the pears from the oven, turn them cut side up and stuff with Maytag Blue Cheese filling. Place back in the oven for 8 minutes or until the cheese has melted.

When the pears are done cooking, transfer to a serving platter and drizzle with hot honey. Garnish with extra fresh thyme and serve warm.
