Warm, cheesy soup made with savory Maytag Spicy Beer Cheese Spread makes those crisp fall days a little bit cozier!
Ingredients
- 7 oz. Maytag Spicy Beer Cheese Spread
- 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 6 oz. lager beer
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp. smoked paprika
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 2 slices bacon, crumbled
- Chives (for garnish)
Directions
In a medium pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté until softened. Sprinkle in flour and whisk continuously for 2 minutes, or until the mixture thickens.
Slowly incorporate the beer and chicken broth, then increase heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and allow mixture to simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes.
Stir in milk, heavy cream, and Maytag Spicy Beer Cheese Spread. Whisk until combined and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Add seasonings to taste.
Top with bacon and chives and serve warm. This recipe makes approximately 6 servings.
